ZACH SHADBOLT HONORED BY AYA / NOFA

Attica's 2016 recipient of the JIM ELLEGATE AWARD is a young man who has shown dedication, commitment and loyalty to his family, community and the AYA since he was introduced to the program.  Between the ages of 5 and 6 he began playing AYA sports, but after getting injured in his 5th grade season, he began helping announce the games on Saturday.  He decided after that season he didn't want to play football anymore, he was going to continue announcing.  The following season the other announcer did not return, leaving it all on this 11 year old to manage, and he did it like a pro.  Since 2006 he has announced almost every Saturday in Attica, along with playing the National Anthem on his Trumpet, rather than from a recording, because it's a more personal touch.  He graduated Attica High School in 2013, going back to playing football his senior year, he still made it his job to have AYA games announced.  he is currently a senior at Alfred State, majoring in Mechanical Engineering, and he still came back to help us every chance he could while he was an hour away in college for the last 4 years.  Our recipient for 2016 is ZACH SHADBOLT!  This young man is by far the most dedicated person to the youth of his community, and his community would like to say thank you for all you've done!!!  We are very proud to call you our own and look forward to seeing where your next chapter takes you!

Congratulations Zach!!!
